As beautiful in winter
is her elegance in spring
where Sunflower's whisper
into the Summer's breeze.
~
And, Autumn's always perfect
calming, and serene
but, bonded very tightly
by the roots of Osage tree's
~
Through Plains of endless corn fields
Or the hue's of golden wheat
that stretch a spacious distance
beyond what eye's can see
~
from Colby, down to Dodge
from Lawrence, back to Hutch
found Nestled in the center
of our country's cluttered bunch
~
There is a place of wonder
and, lakes of channel bass
where buffalo are grazing
along their ancient paths
~
Just listen for the wind chimes
watch for changing leaves
and, when you get to Kansas
Trust her guiding breeze.
