An Ode to Past Homes

Staring back at a powerless TV.

Empty shelves and barren walls.

What I once called home's now just a memory.

It's a candle flame to us.

Neighbors I never met,

Still don't know me.

Watching me pack from a far.

Aquaintances I met a year ago to the day,

Fade out in rearview of my car.

And so goes life.

Don't get too close.

And so it goes.

Don't get too close.

I should'a seen more than this TV.

Maps of lands I'll never visit.

Shouldn'ta had another beer on University.

Proclaiming the whole thing was shit.
