Childhood Poems

Things glorious

Of Christ's magnanimity in uttering

Father, please forgive them

While nails tore through his hands and feet

Of Shiharta Gaotama renouncing his

Luxurious life as a prince to suffer in the wild

An ascetic seeking for the truth

Of Moses who gave up all comforts in

Pharoah's care to wander for forty years

In the harsh desert leading a querulous

People to the Promised Land

Of Prophet Mohammad's decision to give up

His unharrassed life to fight for his

Belief despite an illiterate background

Of venerated Mandarin governor Confucius

Turnning back on a a corrupt court

To bring his ideas of right governance

To the people on his own

Of the people who use the teachings of

These men to benefit the world

Illusive time

The beauty of sounds men have mastered

Manoevring, perfecting them to soothe our hearts

The speed of sounds, men have sent reeling

A feat smartly triumphed

Affording us to scuttle through space

With the defeated sound trailing behind while we speed on

To conquer the next mind-boggling dimension - time

A million surprises will spring forth

The day we obtain the magic to subdue

Einstein's dreamed wonder

Turning this dimension back and forth

Like how we could play with songs on our CDs

So that the mental space spent to bring it

Under our control equals naught

Time, a dimension where all dimensions spring from

In infinity we will be once we become its master
