my daily tanka march 29, 30 2004

Tanka Poems

in the autumn sun

he waits for her

filling time

guessing

the colour of her outfit

all the tiny buds

in each leaf

a new season

slowly unfolds

my heart beats to its rhythm

last light

a trail of dark clouds

hovering over the mountain

her illuminating smile as

i murmur goodbye to her ear

after the failed project

the trauma

the graceful leaves

trailing the wind

soothes my pain
