MORMON BOYS

Mormon boys, white shirts

Black trousers

Black ties smartly-clad

On the march to spread

The other-testament

Of Jesus Christ faith

Raising many eyebrows

Even in Borneon streets

Several thousand miles

From home in a battle to win

Converts among Catholics,

Anglicans and other protestants

Who have long been here

These new fishers of men

Scour the streets from

Morn to night accosting

People of all walks of life

Day after day

Hoping for a catch

An admirable proselytising spirit!

Leaf

Nature's topmost creative quests

Reflected in leaves,

So many shapes and shades

They do a million dances

In the winds to delight and

Uplift the world;

A bamboo slim tapering tipped ends;

A Thai dancer's graceful fingers

Tickling our hearts.

A Purplish butterfly plant;

Ballet dancers with their envious

Diaphanous wings and twin-filament tiara

Spiralling on their toes.

Travelling trees fanned by wind;

Concert dancers bidding audience farewell.

Papaya upright curvaceous crown;

An Indian Bharata Natyam

Dancer flaunting her exotic figures.

Willow in the winds; A Hawaiian dancer

And her tassellated gown beating round her hip.
