this dusk a robin repeatedly sung a song
outside my window striking a note
in my haiku quest, these seven syllables
that added another dimension to my life.
birds share with me new consciousness
in their paradise; their frantic chirps
louder than our chats as they
returned to roost on trees near the busstops;
their seemingly unstoppable flipping tails and
everlasting songs as they stole into
the garden, looking for adventures;
the clawing and chirping of a swallow
as it stared towards sky and
the joy and glee in a forest lake
where so many varieties of birds
swam without a care of the world.
at a seaside resort once, a sea eagle's
heroic flaps and whistles gave me
new courage to face the world.
