The space and time of love and philosophy

I started in the desert,
Where the sky showed me the universe.
The time beaten stars, the moon.
But I fell off

Where the earth drops off the edge
Landing on a charred planet.
I noticed the wisps of music around me
Holding my heart up
With a delicate innocence
So I bottled some for you.

But before I burned up in passion
He swept me away into
The densest, coldest of worlds
Where I saw a thousand hearts
Frozen and dark.
It made me cry and curse and run
From that terrible place,
All the while praying sunlight could reach them.

I ran I ran,
Stumbling into a palace of greenery
With a humble pond brimming with
The most exotic wildlife you have ever seen.
There a wise man stood
Telling me he pondered the mysteries of earth and heaven.
I asked him where did love stand,
Amongst all these secrets.
“I wish I knew...”
He answered,
With desperate eyes

I still pray for his thrashing soul.
So I left for deep space,
With only your memory to warm me.
It has been many years since
But look now dear,
I’m almost there, just barely
I can feel your breath on my lips.
I’m sprinting
Into your arms
and your sweet smile.
