while i dreamt, images of better things engulphed my mind
dancing visualizations, pictures waltz in this head
upon closed eyelids, the film strip begins to roll along
the matinee that features our true love, warm embrace, perfect kiss
while i dreamt, we met in streets of our finest fantasies
a brick road, a yellow brick road, that led to our saving place
where we found that what we needed we unknowingly had all along
yet three clicks of my heels will never take me home to your arms
while i dreamt, you entered the gates into my vulnerable heart
which youve managed to do repetitively with more power each time
and on the other side of not so pearly gates, i welcome your grace
as you grace me with every second of presence that entombs me
while i dreamt, i wandered through clouds a tad too much
until i found myself lost, lost in fears, lost in hopes, lost on these streets
our finest paved heaven, population two, you, me
