This is a world where all I have has been lost (not quite a poem

This is a world where all I have has been lost. I am not a free man but rather I am a slave to the bounds of this world. I dream daily of breaking the chains that bind me to this place but I have been struggling in vain. Or have I? I myself may never be free but I may have set others free. I can see the way they react to the things I say and do, or rather leave unsaid and undone.

I stand here today at the edge of my sanity and I turn and laugh at the world that tried to tie me down and force me to conform to it. I am free now and I am not the only one. I look around me in this new world and I watch as others slowly break the chains that bind them down and step up and out of the oppression.

We are the future, we are down being pushed around and told by the government that what they are doing is right and that anyone who thinks otherwise may be a traitor to the nation. They send us to war over the pettiest things, but now we are through with that. We the youth can see past the boundaries that keep people separated. We can understand each other; we realize that there is really nothing that should be able to keep us apart, and at war. We can see the bonds that tie us down and we are cutting them.

I am sick of being pushed around by a government that doesn’t think that I can see on my own, who thinks that the youth of the nation, are a lost cause. We are smarter then you give us credit for. We see more then you want us to see, and we hear more then you care to admit. We will not always be oppressed by the corporation, or the almighty dollar. The dollar is at our will not us under its will. When will people realize the truth, when will the adults of the nation see that the young of the nation are learning from their example?

The path that has been chosen for me by the world is not the one I will follow. I am going to blaze a new path, and I pray that others will do the same. Let the nations come together. Let the youth of the different nations meet instead of the adults; let us see how much war will follow. I do not say cut the adults out entirely for they do much to keep the world running. What I am saying is that let the future see what they want, for the future has a way of being more understanding then the past.

I being a youth have crossed racial, religious and political boundaries, and in doing so made many a friend. We must learn to respect our brothers and sisters of the world. There is only so much that people who are set in their ways and opinions can do, where as the youth are willing to look past the differences and see the person instead of the color, religion, or nationality.

War may never be written out of the story of man, but it can be minimized. Let us find our brothers and sisters, and embrace them us such, forget your differences, and look to the soul of the person. Free the youth, and change this sad story around.

An Idealistic Essay by

The unnamed Darkchild.

Blessed are those who walk away from this, thinking, not always agreeing but at least thinking.

For if I can make someone question the norm, then I feel, I have done my job.
