Prey

A warning, suffering spirit
Of the knight that lurks and preys.

Bitter tricksters oh so tempting

To steal your soul away.

Unassuming little vessel,

Wary where you tread.

Dancing ghouls in bitter moonlight

Know excatly what you dread.

Shell of twiching heartstrings,
See their fangs all gleam.

Hungry for the shuffling hunt,
Swimming in your screams.

Mind the twisted smiles,

Cast out pretty lies.

Watch as light pours, fading.

Consumed by all that’s died.

Creep softly, poor broken one.

Of blood and salty streaks.

You know they lay in prowling

For the ones whose spirits shreik.

If you do not head my caution,

Oh you of brittle hope.

You’ll be mortally ensnared,

By devils with Love’s rope.
