On the surface, I can do it on my own;

And I am not alone.

Deep down, I really need a friend.

I just pretend.

On the surface, I am never nervous;

And I have a purpose.

Deep down, I have many pieces left to mend.

On the surface, I am strong;

And nothing's ever wrong.

Deep down, I am as weak as the ink left in this pen.

On the surface, I hang a smile;

And life is worthwhile.

Deep down, I really wish it would end.

On the surface, I am happy as can be;

And nobody's funnier than me.

Deep down, Lady Suicide takes a hold of me again.
