If but for a moment I saw her, looming there before me like a lark
The soothing flesh from her shoulder bare, belays a truth,
One of comfort, arms enwrapped to cool the fire
That to my will burns from out my shadowed heart
Knowing only that I must
That I must follow.
If only I could her side make, my case laid before her step
My pain set aside for a day would be eased
That passion of bliss brought on by greed
My dark will filled her need
If only to follow
I must.
Darker now my hands the shadow of love bereaves
To take from her the will that feeds all my days
Knowing I the doom of all life must lie
These words spoken just to lye
Next to her soothing skin bared
That she might follow
If only the shadows would pale
Failing my heart
That I follow
I must.
