There was a young man named Ray

Who put together his resumé

He applied for a job

Spoke to H.R.Director Bob

This is what Bob had to say 

'Ray, I must give you fair warning

Hope you don't go into mourning 

You're a nice guy

To you I won't lie

We're not hiring anyone this morning'

'We're hoping to hire someone soon 

But probably not till next June'

Ray said 'That's not so great 

For June I can't wait 

Are you hiring this afternoon?'

Bob said 'Ray, you must not be too bright 

You heard what I just told you, right?'

Ray said 'I heard it okay

You're not hiring today 

Are you hiring anyone tonight?'

'What you said, it causes great sorrow 

I'm willing to beg, steal or borrow 

You're breaking my heart

I'm anxious to start 

Can you make my first day here tomorrow?'
