It's time now for a story
A tale which must be heard
About a man whose glory
Is well-deserved? Absurd!
His name was Gilbert Thomas
One day decided, see
Made everyone he knew promise
To now call him Gil T
Many people didn't know
That Gil T had a wife
He didn't love, got tired of, so
He killed her with a knife
Soon enough, the news got out
Everybody heard, uh
All through town, they'd scream and shout
'Gil T, arrested for murder!'
At his trial, was proof beyond doubt
He did it, obviously
But like a hot dog without sauerkraut
The result was not to my taste, gee
When the jury, they announced
'We find Gil T guilty'
On these words Gil's defense team pounced
'That's double jeopardy!'
Need I explain to you
What this is all about?
'Gil T guilty', on a single charge?
The two cancel each other out!
That's what happened to Gil T
Was a man quite mischievous
Got away with murder, first degree
Gil T, he was so devious!
