This poem is about Augie
Who wanted to own a doggy
His friends said he was crazy
Told him he's much too lazy
They said 'Augie, you're a big talker
You like to talk a lot
If you own a dog, you need to walk him
You're too lazy, you will not'
Augie didn't let what his friends say discourage him
As a matter of fact, it encouraged him
He told them 'When I tell you this, your eyebrows will arch
Not only will I take my dog for a walk, I'll take him for a march!'
What about you? Did your eyebrows arch?
Are you wondering, did Augie ever make a dog march?
He got a dog a week ago yesterday
You don't have to be a genius to know that's April, ok?
So far, the dog ain't marched yet
But I need to remind you, don't forget
Augie didn't get that dog till April
April's after March, that's a sure bet!
He May March in June since he won't in April
Unless it'll be July, not July, by August he will
How could he March in August? Who said? Have tea to spill?
Augie said! Said of his doggy..what? Aug he March! He will!
