I know a gal named Shirley

Whose husband Al is burly 

Recently had a fight

It lasted all night

Because Shirley said Al called her 'surly'

Al says 'If my wife thinks I called her surly

Then she is mistaken surely 

I mean, she must be mistaken 

My heart, she is breakin' 

I never would call you that Shirley'

I figured out what occurred 

Shirley's mad 'cause she misheard a word 

This is what Al said to Shirley 

'You rise each morn at 5:00, why s'early?'

The whole situation's absurd
