The philosopher Descartes loved drinking
He'd have shot after shot till he was stinking
If anyone said 'You want another?'
He'd say 'Absolutely, if you're buying, brother'
He was in the bar one night
Everything seemed all right
The whole bar was having fun
Descartes was happy, as was everyone
Someone said 'I'll treat you to a shot'
Descartes, he smiled, said 'I think not '
And then the strangest thing occurred
You had to be there, it was absurd
He just vanished into thin air
One second he was, then he wasn't there
The man who said 'I think therefore I am'
Just up and disappeared. Oh damn!
Did Descartes need to keep thinking to keep existing?
You think it's true, you keep persisting
That's an idea I am strongly resisting
Ok, you're right! Stop with the arm-twisting!
