Away from the desk? How to deal

Burnout is a growing problem in today's workplace. We here at [company] strive to create a happy, supportive environment for both our employees and our furniture. Read on to see what you, as a desk, can do to recognize it and steps you can take to make the person who uses you more happy and productive.

Has he/she been spending more time away from you lately? Listen to their phone message. You may hear something like 'Hi. This is [Name] at [company]. I can't take your call right now. I'm away from my desk. Leave a message.' The question is why and how often are they away from you? What can be done to keep you two together? Maybe they want to hang out at other desks. You want to make sure your relationship is in good standing. Standing may be the answer. You must adapt or risk being left behind.

Your needs are not being met, and you're being treated in a disrespectful manner. You deserve some consideration as well. Do they tell you why they feel the need to step away from you? You deserve to know.
Why does the whole world have to know you're being stepped away from? Is that really necessary?

Have they been putting their feet up on you more frequently lately? Stuck any gum on your underside where no one can see it?

If this is happening to you, counseling is available, though we're still in the process of figuring out how that will work for a desk. Contact Human Resources for more information.
