Shouldn’t be taken lightly

The N.Y. Times runs a column every Sunday entitled 'The Ethicist' which attempts to assist people who are facing a situation in which they want to do the right thing, but are not sure what the right thing is. This is the headline today:

'My Friend Has Become Obese. Should I Intervene?'

Comments are welcomed so I came up with one and submitted it. It's been over two hours now and I haven't heard anything back from the Times. Based on my experience, this tells me they're not interested in publishing it. Here it is.

'Regarding the question whether it would be appropriate to intervene if your friend is obese, I would say the best thing to do is weight, see if there's more, though in some cases, that decision may come pound the problem. Sadly, in most cases, nothing you can do will help. You think something will? Fat chance!'
