People can be peculiar

Todays headline in The NY Times:

'They Married for a Life Abroad. But They Never Saw Their Husbands Again'

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/13/world/asia/india-brides-women.html

The article talks about the plight of many Indian women, whose husbands have abandoned them after taking a job overseas. My heart goes out to these women, but there's one thing I don't quite understand.

If I'm reading the headline correctly, these women were not satisfied being married to their husbands. They wanted a life. So what did they do? They married a broad! Now they're complaining they won't ever see their husbands anymore? I don't get it. If my wife left me for another woman, why would she complain about it? She was the one who abandoned me, not the other way around!

One last point. To those of you who disapprove of me using that not politically correct term 'a broad' to describe a woman, don't be mad at me. Direct your anger toward the NY Times. They're the ones who used the word, not me!
