Raindrops gently tapping against my window,
Sadness gently tapping away at my soul,
I can't help but think of you,
And how you made me look like a fool.
The words that you spoke to me,
Made me feel about an inch tall.
I can't get them out of my mind,
I can't help but sit here and bawl.
Nobody's ever put me down,
As much as you managed to today.
There isn't any way to fix things,
There is nothing that you could say.
No matter how sorry you are,
Or how much you apologize to me,
You can't undo those heinous acts,
Or take away the pain that is eating me.
Raindrops gently tapping against my window,
Sadness gently tapping away at my soul,
If only I could turn back time,
I would have stayed away from somebody so cruel.
The most amazing thing about poetry ................
is how personal yet oh so very universal too it can be. I hope the hurting woman in you listens to this message from your higher self and follows through and does not give this person any more ammunition to shoot you with. I was always told we teach people how to treat us. If you must continue to have that person in your life then stand up and tell him or her in very strong words and an even stronger voice how you want them to treat you and if they can't then give them notice they will be booted from your life permanently. Forgiveness doesn't mean you have to take anyone back it can mean just letting them go and wishing them well but not wanting them in your life anymore to have that access to you again where they can rise and re hurt you when the feel like it. This poem really touched me. You're a beautiful soul! Stand firm in it!........ all the best, most sincerely, Melissa Lundeen.
