I don't know why you fell in love with me,

I'm not the really the girl that you see.

I have issues that are hard to believe,

Some things like that are hard to perceive.



You said that I'm sweet, and you love me for me,

But I'm not really the girl that I seem to be.

Under my sweetness lies a timebomb about to explode,

Upon my shoulders I carry a very heavy load.



The past has slowly caught up with me,

If you only knew, you would totally agree.

Everyone has their own can of worms, waiting to be left out,

But if you only knew mine, you'd scream and shout.



For I'm not as pure as you seem to think,

I've conveniently hidden a missing link.

For when you find it, you'll hate me so much,

You'll leave me so quickly, never again be in touch.



I apologize prematurely, for I know that it's all going to end,

And I treasure the time that we shared, you were a great friend.

Thank you for sharing your love with me,

But it's time that I let you go free.
