She has brown eyes-
Warm, soft, comforting.
They're beautiful.
But only I see her eyes
When they are green.
They're deep, like the heart or an evergreen
Breaking free from the weight of a cold oppression.
The green that chases away the dark night snows,
Rising up from the depths of a harsh winter
Too long unchallenged.
It's when she chases me,
Seeking my heart
Around the corner in my eyes.
When her eyes reflect mine
And she is so alive.
