Time is my greatest ally,
Yet also my deadliest foe,
A snarling beast, both wild and meak,
It tortures me when i try to sleep.
But this is torture of a different kind,
The type that snares and captures minds,
It builds me up then drags me down,
An emotionless, faceless, mocking clown.
It gives me hope, confounds my fears,
And now the days turn into years,
Sometimes i think i've conquered time,
Then realise i've just tricked my mind.
To believeing time was really there,
not just a construct to keep me here,
A meaningless word like all others,
Society tried to keep that one covered.
But when you've been to where i've been,
You'll see through the lies, the constant spin,
See the truth in all its glory,
Realise yours is the only story.
