As i brush past your body,
Your flesh touches my fur,
I feel a sheer exhuberance,
That you may know by my purr.
I lay about in slumber,
For many a hour during the day,
Upon waking my only two desires,
Are to eat and sometimes play.
I have listened to all your troubles,
The moaning of a weary heart,
And suffered them in silence,
In the hours of the dark.
I am of what little comfort,
A creature or pet could be,
Offering some companionship,
To you, sat here, with me.
