To my Lexy Faith on your very first Christmas

The first gift of Christmas was you Lexy Faith
A surprise indeed, so delicate and small.
You came when you wanted, You set your own rules
You fought for every breath, and surprised us all.

You were "Gods Gift" to your mother,
an angel for her to call her own.
And chosen from the love of another,
A kind of love I have never known.

I learned of you, just conceived and not one month old,
And in a very short time, we were bound as one.
But I would not trade you, for all the gold.
As for regrets my love, I have none.

I asked your mommy as she held you tight,
I did not realize how tied our hearts were.
I asked "Hows My Lexy?" as I worked thru the night.
You heard me my angel, as you smiled at her.
And I knew right then, that you would be alright. :-)

An angel of my own Lexy, this is all new to me.
I want to do everything right by you.
Your loving daddy is what I wish to be.
Your friend,companion, and father too.
