Caterpillar Blues

When i loved her i loved a lie

as i kissed her i closed one eye

and when i held her i thought i'd die

so in our hearts we said good-bye

and as she looked at me sincere

she saw me down kneeling a prayer

from the tree that we both share

she turned around and left me there

and as she left she looked at he

in his ear she whispered to me

that in her sky we can't be

so now and forever she'll fly free

and when i wanted for her to show

her dreams, her smile and this i know

when her rose just would not grow

the beauty was gone so now she'll go

but in my heart i know i tried

when she left i stopped and cried

and in the dark is where i'll hide

because i loved her deep inside

and now i feel that i must say

that in time i'll find my way

and in my heart i'll have to pray

i'll see my light again someday

and in my mind i wish i grew

but there was nothing that i could do

so as she left, i left her too

goodbye my love and i'll miss you

yet in my soul there'll be a place

next to the memories of her face

with the touch of our embrace

like withered roses in a vase

and while i think and wonder why

why she left and went to fly

in one breath and with a sigh

i raise my hand and wave goodbye

THIS IS SO AWESOME WILLIAM. HOW CREATIVE!!!! You have beautiful talent. You critiqued one of my poems a long time ago so I thought I would follow your link and read some of your latest stuff. I just happened to click on this one first. It is beautiful. I wish my talent were similar but I'm not that creative, just observant.

Once again, bravo!!
