A man stood in the dock
Head bowed shoulders sunk
Feeling so weak
He cant stand up
His mind completely turned to mush
As the jury sizes him up
The prosecution mock and ridicule
Trying to discredit
And belittle him too
Asking repeatedly the same questions
Jumping to conclusions
The jury making their own assumptions
Hes so weak
His brain cant function
So stressed and drained
Not knowing if they believe a word he says
The truth being distorted in so many ways
Thank god his ordeal is over today
People thinking he comitted a crime he must pay
But hes not the defendant
Hes a witness today
So why was he treated in such a disrespectful way
