I've always loved you-just like family
Throughout the good years
And the bad ones in-between
You’ve always been there
Even more than it may seem
Growing up and sometimes feeling like I was on my own
I always knew that you’d be there
I always had a second home
We could not talk for years
But I would come back and it would feel as though I just saw you last night
You’ve always stuck right by my side
On good days
And bad days
Happy days
And sad days
Days when I’d just want to cry
You never question me or ask why
You just tell me it’s ok to cry
We can cry together
Though it might not make things better
We’ll always be close like that
Good or bad weather
No matter what you’d never judge me
You’d just want the best for me
Though I am not perfect
And at times I have let you down
You’d never push me away
That’s why I’ll always be around
You’ve always welcomed me into your home
Even when you weren’t there I’ve never felt alone
So I just thought I’d let you know
Tell you how I feel
In my writing that means more than just words to me
I want you to understand
It means so very much you see
I’m so thankful for you
So glad that our lives crossed
I say this from my heart
Because you were the ones there from the start
I know now it was meant to be
And I’ve always loved you…. just like family.
