Paperdoll

you told me i was perfect

you lied

you said you loved me

that's not love

love is a two way street

and you're only letting one way pass

you tried to cut me from a mold

change who i am

you can buy me make up

and new clothes

but i will never be

who you want me to be

this is all one big dream for you

controlling me

who are you to tell me who to be?

you still try to tell me you love me

what kind of love starts with change

and why do i change

to please your eyes

do you think i could be happier

if i were like you?

fuck you

and fuck your daydreams

i don't want to be your paperdoll anymore

You know, I've never really heard you swear before. Not that I remember anyway. It's kind of weird reading it here..

Too many times people alter their appearance to please the one they love. They forget that love isn't built on the outside, but the beauty within. You managed to convey this message loud and clear in your poem. Also, you showed people how to truly love yourself is to be yourself and stand up for who you are, what makes you who you are, what you believe in, etc. Good job and I hope to read more your work at a later time.
