Why Is It

Why is it that

No one can accept

The way we truly are

Doesn’t matter where we

We come from near or far

Why is it that people?

Are so quick to judge

Why is it that we are?

Still not smart enough

To know what we do is wrong

It’s a mistake we do too much

And we have to know that we

Have to stop

We push and push

Then we fall

But that doesn't mean

It has to be the end for us all

Why is it that we never look?

Past the outer core

We must look inside and

Find something more

We do this too much

And I include myself in this

That characterizing people is wrong

But we have a fear of bring disused

It’s ok for you to tease someone

And when it’s done to you

You hate it

Think twice before you talk

And if you can't just take a walk

It’s not worth your time to stand there and judge

Go out and make a friend

That you would never have thought of

Put your thoughts of negativity aside

And your true feelings will come alive

Why is it that we never stop?

Its so hard like we have become

Accustomed to it

What a shame that we can say that

We should never get used to it

Race, Creed, Color,

Why does it all matter?

Why does it bother you?

Why does it make you fill with hate?

Why can't you see this world is too big?

Just to go to waste

There are many things

To worry about then the exterior

Why does all this negativity?

Make someone feel so inferior

Does it really matter?

Where you come from?

Does it matter what religion you have?

Does it matter if you wear different clothes?

From everyone else?

why does it matter?

It shouldn't matter

the clique you belong to isn't the best

or what clothes you wear

or the religion you practice

why should anyone care

bout what you have or what you are

the most important is who you are

in the inside

where the light gleams

on the outside so much hurt

that the light can't get past the seams

When will we learn

when will we change

put the negativity aside

and put some positively in place

Why does it matter?

A simple question to ask

Why does it matter?

If you are white, Hispanic, Asian or black

Why does it matter?

Why does it matter?

Just why?
