A friend once told me

To never love a guy

'Cause no matter what you do,

They'll always make you cry.



She once loved a guy

Who said he loved her too,

But she was never quite sure

If what he said was true.



Everything he said

She ended up believeing.

Then she came to realize

He had been decieving.



She'll never forget that day,

The day he broke her heart,

When everything went wrong,

And their love just fell apart.



She called me crying on the phone

And I helped her best I could.

I told her to forget about him.

I said that he was just no good.



She kept asking herself

Just how long she'd have to wait

For him to come back to her

Or was it too late?



I kept trying to tell her

To move on to other guys,

But she said that she couldn't.

He's the only one in her eyes.



Maybe I should listen

To what I tell myself,

But it's so hard for me.

I think I need some help.



So I pray to you, dear Lord,

Please tell me what to do.

Help me try to handle

All the pain that I've been through.
