Those tangled woods of Michigan
today are misty, quiet and calm
and the scent of fragrant flowers
invade the early dawn
The quiet and the peacefullness
as I sit here in the morn
feel's like my Mom's arms around me
on the day that I was born
The tulips and the dafodills
the laurel and the pine
and the warble of sweet chirping birds
makes my world feel so devine
Oh Michigan, my Michigan
you are my world, my home
and as long as I can touch your earth
i'll never feel alone
Old farm houses along a country road
worn paths and piney trails
the sun high upon a frosty morn
sand dunes and rutted vales
Long rivers and a million lakes
deer blinds built high there in the woods
as winter frost nips at your finger tips
and hot coffee feels so good
The wheat fields and the corn fields
that grows in gold arrey
and family gardens in their yard's
well, a feast's not far away
Today I sit in tangled woods
dreaming dreams here all alone
sweet thoughts of dear old Michigan
my motherland and home
