He was a dapper sort of dandy
in a fancy sort of way
and he made the ladies giggle
when he pranced by them each day
His shirts were starched and ruffled
and on his shoes, gold buckles shown
his vest was lined in satin
with a rich brocaded tone
He had a fancy walking stick
that he'd twirl up in the air
as he strutted down old Maple Street
with no worries and no care's
He had a horseless carriage
with scarlet wheels and spokes
and every Sunday after church
he gave rides to all the folks
Oh he was a handsome fellow
and he made all the ladies swoon
and they wished that he would ask them out
so they could sit beneath the moon
But the best of all his regal clothes
were the fancy pants he wore
with red suspenders o'er his shoulders
and tapered to his floor
They were tight and slight tapered
with pockets of embroideried trim
and the fancy bottons on the sides
made all the ladies grin
There were green and blue and black ones
and some white and red ones too
there were stripes and prints and solids
and one with checks of blue
He made a dashing picture
with that stetson on his brow
and the ladies they would smile and blush
when he'd give them all a bow
But one day he chose a lady
a sweet young girl so true
she had long and golden ringlets
and her eyes were softest blue
He proposed to her in springtime
one bright and sunny day
and he told her that he loved her
and would care for her always
Now when the ladies see him coming
there's not one, but two
with their arms around each other
in his carriage made of blue
Now you ladies can start crying
for you lost your final chance
for he picked his final partner
and she loves his fancy pant's
