May a shining star always guide ye

as ye journey so far from me

and may yer days and nights be always blessed

as ye cross the foaming sea

May the midnight sun shine upon ye

and may ye heart be free as the breeze

and may all yer dreams forever come true

and may my love always please

As ye go away from me darlin'

I pray that ye'll never forget

that it is I who loves ye so much

and that love ye shall nevr forget

As ye leave yer old home here in Ireland

I hope that yer heart's light and gay

and when yer get all yer rambling done

that ye'll be coming home to stay

May ye never have hurt and never haave pain

as ye travel the far distant land

and may yer old home way's yer'll never forget

and may ye always have a friend

And someday when ye come back to Ireland, my love

ye'll find that I'm waiting here still

and always remember that ye carry my heart

for I love ye and always will

and the one that I think of each day

and I'll remember the times that we walked side by side

down by that wild rocky bay

They'll always be a fire burning for ye at home

and a soft cover will be waiting here fer ye

to warm yer feet in the night
