Tonight I though I heard

the fluttering of distant wings

and it wasn't long before I heard

a choir of shining angels start to sing

Then heaven's bells rang out so loud and clear

in soft melodious tones

and all God's saint's rejoiced again

as another soul was safely welcomed home

A gentle breeze across my brow

told me that you were here

for as best friends

we always held each other dear

And I know you came tonight

one last time before you fly to God on high

to say a final 'See ya later gator'

but ner goodbye

I'll miss you, Roy

you were my special friend

but I'll meet you soon upon the milky way

where loving friendships never end

So fly high now, my cherished one

enjoy your blessed stay

for soon we'll fly together

upon some special happy day

And you and I will laugh again

sweet sounds of gentle mirth

as we soar high up in the cosmos

above God's awesome earth

Farewell to you, for just a little while

but save a place beside you, friend

for I want to sit there with you

whenere my time on earth doth end

And in the meantime

I'll see you in the summer rain

or in a red birds song

I'll hear you in a babbling brook

as it gently flows along

I'll see you in a butterfly

as it glides on silvered wings

I'll feel you in the gentle breeze

for I know you're all these things

Goodbye one last time, dear Roy

to me you were God's on special light

but I know all things come to and end

and so for now, I'll only say 'goodnight'

and as you always said to me

'I Love You'
