Responsibility

Do we not have a duty to be responsible?
Responsible for ourselves, responsible for the things we do;
I soil where I eat and sleep,
It’s my responsibility to clean it up;
Right?
Do we not have a responsibility to keep our children safe;
To love them, care for them,
Try to teach them a better way to live;
It’s our responsibility to teach them justice;
Right?
Do we not have a duty to care for this planet?
To preserve and cherish it for our children,
And their children, after;
And not leave an empty, burnt out wreck for them to inherit;
Right?
Do we not have a responsibility to care for and look after one another?
Whether they be ill, elderly, poor, homeless, war-torn;
Coz here’s the thing: we all live on one big boat
We have a responsibility to not knock holes in the bottom;
Right?
