Self-Discovery

Self-discovery is a journey I did not choose, but became necessary in the midst of loss and pain. It started at a time when I felt I had lost myself, confused, caught up in the expectations of others and the world around me. I tried to adjust, but it only made me move further away from myself. The one time I looked back, there was nothing left of the person I thought I was.

 

There were many days where I wondered if I would ever truly understand who I was. Every attempt to make sense of my feelings only brought more questions. I lost my faith in the world, and with it, also in myself. It was a loneliness I couldn't escape, a feeling that no one would truly understand what was going on inside of me.

 

But in that darkness, I began to learn that self-discovery is not just a journey of triumph. It is a journey through the mourning of everything I thought I should be, an acceptance of my vulnerabilities. I've realized that this journey of self-discovery is often filled with sadness, learning to be broken and still keep going, even when it feels like I can't be whole. In the end I understood that sometimes growth comes through losing
