You were strolling down the pavement
While questions and echoes wafted by
Only occaisionally looking up
Never with contact of the eye
As you made your way you realized
That your road map was outdated
Since you took your first step
Wants from needs were segregated
Finally, you rested at a dead end
Only pausing for a while
A gleam above shone unfamiliar
Something had found you on this mile
Hadn't expected to find it here
Still intrigued enough to smile
And when that light filtered down to you
It was impossible to defile
Before you could stop to wonder why
The question had ran itself extinct
We both now felt it, for you and I
Were invariably somehow linked
