The Endless Road

Folder:
Pain

Walking down an endless path
A place where no one will ever laugh
A place as great and old
As the ancient tomb is cold

Emotionless I walk
Never stopping to talk
I walk grave and gaunt
Feeling like a ghostly haunt

I walk about like a drone
Frozen to my lifeless bone
I think that I have lost my soul
And I think that makes me a ghoul

A heatless ghoul
A lifeless soul
A mind that's black
And a love I lack

Walking down this endless street
Feeling like I have lead for feet
Come and save me today
Help me love, or go away

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is my first poem I actually think I liked. I finally nailed the rhyme with this one, as well as an even structure. In fact, it could be said that this is the poem that made me continue with poetry. I hope it pleases everyone.
