Addiction
Waxy white withered face
Bruised blue beneath your eye
You really have to stop this now
Or you’re really going to die
You come down hard from euphoria
Every single time
So why put yourself through it
Pretending that you’re fine
I’ve seen the way you get
When you haven’t had your ‘fix’
You fall to your knees crying
Fall down like a tonne of bricks
Your hair hangs all tangled
Greasy and smelling weird
You’ve changed so much its unreal
The old you’s disappeared
You lay dormant for days
Don’t hear from you at all
You don’t answer your door
Or answer any of my calls
I know that you’re in
Because sometimes I can see you
You’ve become so anti-social
You haven’t a clue
Please just stop doing it
Your life is seriously in danger
An addiction like that
Can make you a stranger.
It can wreck your life
Unless you over-come it
You’ve got to stay strong
Swallow your pride and quit.
