Night On The Town
There’s a buzz in the air
And nerves in my tummy
“Be careful out there”
Worried words from my mummy
It’s only clubbing
It’s not all violence and crime
It’s about the company you keep
And having a good time
The trick is to start off early
Making sure you take is easy
Get too drunk too soon
And you’ll look greasy and sleazy
You get the taxi over at 10 or 11
Open the doors into the wild
Inebriation and intoxication
I looked at my friends and smiled
Talking about useless nothingness
We travel from bar to bar
Keeping close watch on each other
Making sure no-one strays too far
We reach the final destination
The “big cheese” as it were
From this moment on
The night will be a blur
Drink, drink and more drink
Draining all our cash
Started off with fifty quid
Disappears in a flash.
The next day you wake up rough
Wondering how you got to bed
You gently sip on water
Trying not to move your head
At least you know you had fun
From photographs that had been taken
Giggling because you don’t remember
Now its hangover cure time... Bacon
