Pristine, lacey, white snowflakes
Fall around the orange florescent streetlight
My head pressed against
The cold, foggy window pane.
Is this happiness?
Is this what I’ve longed for?
He sits in the next room
Further exercising his brain
With his puzzle book.
I had just thrown down a book
In degust.
He smirked.
Never have I known
A feeling
So confusing
As this.
Pure bliss
Mixed with laughter.
A dash of adventure
And a million smiles.
I love this man,
I know it.
But this feeling…
It’s just so new
To me
And I find myself wondering…
How long will this last?
Will I be discarded for another
Like before?
Or will I remain here,
Happily watching the snow
Fall around this streetlight?
