Having been recently criticized for writing "perversions" (presumably, my series of poems entitled Circa 1976)---although many precedents for it exist in ancient Greek and Roman literature; and, even more importantly, in the Biblical 1 Samuel 18 and 2 Samuel 1.
In the face of this criticism, and my respect for literary precedents, I have used the word "lovely" in the same way that the great Poet, Christopher Marlowe, used it in his play, Edward II, in the first scene of the first act. I refer the reader to read that scene directly.
I do not believe I am imfringing upon Marlowe's rights by citing this usage, or using the word in my poems.
