Melodies XLIX; Of Persons Who Were Earth'ns

Before we drove them all into extinction

(for common good), Earth'ns earned this distinction:

the endless winter of their discontent

never thawed into spring's verve, or a summer's

delight.  They surely marched to different drummings'

percussions---like the fascist Ezra's pounding

which, to our dislike of them, was redounding

without the least shred of our cosmic thrumming.

So we decided quickly to prevent

their entry into space as "up and comers."

Starward

Author's Notes/Comments:

Yep, I admit it:  the last line was constructed to comply with the rhyme scheme.  Oh no!, am I becoming a scrapbook peot?
