I have lived longer
than Nick Virgilio; but
I am less worthy:
Lord, I am grateful for life,
yet I do not understand . . . .

Author's Notes/Comments:
Nick Virgilio, who (in my opinion, and others') is America's greatest Haiku poet, passed away in January, 1989, at the age of sixty-one. He was a devout Sacramentalist Christian, whose acquaintance I hope to make in Heaven. He was a far worthier, and more accomplished Poet, than I am. I freely admit I do not understand why God has left me here to live in my unworthiness. I gladly put my faith in KJV Isaiah 55:8.
