My Shadow
Here I wonder through this bitter world
Its nectar sweet to my burning heart
Something so taunting entangles my mind
Lost in a moment of painful yearning
My body trembles under life's grip
A stinging sensation overwhelms me
Pushing and pulling me in every direction
I can't out run it or even fall behind it
I'm never alone.. it's always there
I long for the one thing that I can't have
So close to me. But too far I can't reach it
Teasing me with its bitter kiss on my lips
Not giving me more then a taste of its passion
But leaving me a bitter mouthful to remember
The pain will always follow close behind me.
Like a Shadow stitched to my skin, I'm not alone.
