A trembling hand caressing tired eyes
Dry the tears please end these cries
Silence drowns out a quiet plea
Darkness falls and she cannot see
These streets are dark, attached no sound
Pull pain engraved feet across the ground
A bitter cold arrives to nip at her fingers
With all her screams, silence still lingers
Tears stream down, she can't take the pain
To add to her tortures, falls ice-cold rain
Finally at home, she closes the front door
Blood from her face drips down to the floor
Bracing herself she places a hand on the wall
She couldn't get up if she happened to fall
Climbing the stairs she goes for her bed
A few pills to calm the spinning in her head
The fear slowly clears, he'll leave her alone
The comfort now torn away by the sound of the phone.
