Hold Your Own Burdens

why must you give me this burden?

with the world pressing down upon my back

on fragile skin and brittle bones

that with such force begin to crack

all you can do is stand in awe

watch as I crush under the weight

you didnt mean to cause me such pain

it wasnt out of hate

but not even your remorse

could turn back the tide

the weight you pressed upon me

was too heavy to lift, but you tried

now all you can do is watch

as I start to die

I look into your face

you just stand and cry

but you start to realize

you shouldnt have put it all on me

I breathe my last breath

finally you see

as my pain is relieved

and I pass on alone

you feel a strong pressure

crossing from bone to bone

you've gotten what you deserve

this time no help, its yours to do

now the world is on your own shoulders

but you had it coming to you
