I stood on the edge
my hopes took flight
they fell to the ground
then shattered in the night
with a tiny sound almost like a sigh
tiny pieces of clear glass
glitter through the sky
with silence they fall but speed so fast
above without the vase
no protection from the thorns
hopelessness written on my face
and inside I'm torn
where is the moon
I beg you, cast down your glow
hopes lay down, like a child drops his spoon
the moon sees all, that we cant let go
No one will know in a million years
a grain of sand on the wings of time
the moon the only one that hears
or sees where the glass left it's sign
and the tears that fall from my eyes
just like the pieces far off
that fell from the skies
the only difference is that they're soft
mankind is bound by many things like this
its just another spec in the night
all peoples dreams easily shattered
hopes easily take flight
